Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have a townhouse in Haymarket which needed an old wood deck teardown and a new composite deck build. I met up to 5 deck contractors to get estimates. Bill, the owner of Dominion Custom Decks and Patios, discussed and reviewed options with me at the townhome and took measurements. Bill worked professionally with me providing estimates and updates when I needed to change the scope a few times before starting. Bill is driven by meeting his commitments, and I always got real time responses back directly from Bill. During the build, the rain kept coming but Bill and his outstanding team got it done working through it. My deck was one of the simpler ones, and I got the same attention and focus from Bill and his team as the other larger decks builds he had going on at the same time. I am very happy with the new deck! Bill personally made sure everything was done right, down to replacing a patio brick that was cracked around the deck post he informed me about. I recommend anyone to Dominion Custom Decks and Patios. You will receive excellent service and craftmanship!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dominion Custom Decks provided us with a fantastic backyard transformation. We were struggling to find a way to use our backyard due to grade, and the smaller deck we had was aging. Bill, from Dominion, led us through the process of envisionment and planning, answering all of our questions through the process with absolutely no pressure or rush. Once we made our choices (and a few times of changing our minds) Bill's crews came in an executed flawlessly. The communication was spot on, and they were timely, respectful, and each milestone was on-time and on-budget. There were no surprises at all. The finished product surpassed our expectations! I couldn't recommend Dominion and Bill enough. Kevin Armentrout

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We worked with Bill to remove an existing deck and replace it with a larger deck with some major modifications. This was after Bill had put a sidewalk in leading to our front door. Bill was very helpful in the selection of materials as well as modifications needed to join the new deck to the existing infrastructure. In spite of some personal issues that came up during the construction, Bill was responsive and professional. I would highly recommend him for your deck or patio needs.

FAQ: Luxury Deck Builder in Fairfax, VA

How long does a luxury deck project take in Fairfax, VA?

How do you price premium deck construction for a custom project?

What materials do you recommend for long lasting decks in Fairfax weather?

Can you customize the deck layout for my backyard?

Yes. Custom deck design is a core part of what we do. We plan for movement, seating, cooking areas, and the way you actually enter and exit the space. Many homeowners want outdoor entertainment areas that feel open but still defined. We can design multi level areas, wider stair landings, and built in zones that make the deck feel like an outdoor room. Good design also helps with safety and long term use because it avoids cramped paths and awkward transitions.

Do you offer deck remodeling services for older decks in Fairfax, VA?

Yes. Deck remodeling services can be a great option when the structure is repairable or when you want to upgrade the look and function without starting from zero. We can replace worn decking, improve rails, update stairs, and add modern features that fit today’s style. If the framing is not safe, we will tell you straight and recommend the right fix. Our goal is to make sure the finished deck is strong, safe, and built to last, not just patched.

What makes you a designer deck contractor instead of a basic builder?

A designer deck contractor focuses on how the deck looks, feels, and functions, not only on building a platform. That means details like proportions, clean lines, rail choices, lighting placement, and transitions to patios or doors matter. It also means selecting materials that match the home’s architecture and planning features that improve daily use. We approach each job as bespoke deck building, with a clear plan and a finished look that feels intentional and well matched to the property.

Do you offer Luxury Deck Builder near me in Fairfax, VA and nearby areas?

Yes. If you are searching for Luxury Deck Builder near me and you are in Fairfax, VA, we can help. We also serve nearby communities where homeowners want high end outdoor living spaces that fit the style of the home and neighborhood. During the first call, we confirm your address, listen to your goals, and schedule a visit. Local service matters because it supports faster communication, realistic planning, and a team that understands local expectations. Reach out and we will walk you through the next step.

What maintenance should I expect after installation?

Maintenance depends on the materials you select. Composite decking solutions typically need simple cleaning to remove pollen and seasonal buildup. Hardwood deck installation may require periodic care to protect color and surface quality. We explain maintenance before you decide so there are no surprises later. We also share practical tips that fit Fairfax conditions, like keeping gaps clear and managing moisture around planters. The goal is simple. Protect the deck’s appearance and performance so it stays beautiful for years.
